The rocket launch site lies in a rare mountain zone.
There are over 400 scientific research satellites and rockets, including Japan’s first man-made satellite, “Osumi,” the asteroid probe, “Hayabusa,” and the new solid-fuel rocket, “Epsilon,” that are tracked and used for data acquisition.
The facilities house a launch pad and a giant 20m and 34m diameter parabola antenna. There is also a space science museum where you can learn about the history of rocket construction and space research.
